Trinity Waters, 25 October (14 pegs)

Give "Mr Consistent", Darren North a half decent draw on a good day at any venue and there can only be one outcome as he proved today at Trinity Waters' Woodland Lake.
Drawing peg 24 on the central bank and out of the worst of the wind, Darren fished pellet shallow on the pole to win convincingly with 77lbs 12oz.
His performance was that impressive, in fact, that at one point he attracted a small gallery of spectators who were eager to pick up a few tips until they realised he wasn't Tony Rixon!

Second in the frame and one peg down from the winner was Paul Elmes who fished the same methods for a total of 69-4 closely followed by Alan Healy in the opposite corner at peg 16 with 63-10.
First out of the money and sticking with his tradition of getting nowhere in psv matches was the real
Tony Rixon who weighed in just 55-7 from flier peg 18!

Viaduct, Campbell, 18 October (13 pegs)

With frost on the ground for the second day running the general feeling was that fishing was going to be a struggle but fortunately for Psv match secretary, Steve Burgess, the "fishing Gods" were still smiling.
Drawn on peg 129, Steve started on the pole at 13m with caster and corn but seeing Mark Radford catch an early carp on the waggler, he quickly switched to his trusty float rod and with an 8mm banded pellet fished on the deck was soon into the carp.
For the first hour or so, the bright sunshine was causing problems with seeing his float, resulting in missed bites and foul-hooked fish but as the sun moved Steve managed a steady procession of fish to 7lbs and despite losing as many foul-hookers, a final all-carp total of 70lbs 1oz.

Further up the bank, on the flyer peg 125, club chairman and wealthy landowner, Mike Wilson, had dusted the cobwebs off his fishing gear to enjoy a rare but welcome day out with the club.
Mike fished similar tactics to the match-winner finishing up just over 2lbs short of the top spot with 67lbs 15oz for a well-deserved second place.
Third place went to Mark Britton in Bob Warren's favourite peg
(corner peg 123). Mark struggled to catch fishing long into the corner margins and instead caught most of his 62-15 on the straight lead with 11mm pellet.
Fourth spot went to new member, Chris Zak, on his first match with Psv. Chris caught steadily throughout the match to put 42lbs 11oz on the scales.
Alan Healy topped the silvers pool from peg 110 with 21-11 caught on caster from the margins but unfortunately could only add one small carp to that total and yet again was forced to part with a considerable number of £1 coins in side bets!

Overall Result:
  1. Steve Burgess .... peg 129 .... 70-1
  2. Mike Wilson ........ 125 ........... 67-15
  3. Mark Britton ....... 123 ........... 62-15

Sedges, 11 October (10 pegs)

With the Sedges carp unwilling to get their heads down a decent weight of skimmers with a couple of bonus carp was needed to frame and psv veteran, Bob Warren, did just that easily winning the match from peg 8 with an impressive 36-14 of skimmers and 2 good carp for a total of 56lbs exactly. Bob caught most of his fish on soft pellet over micro pellet feed with some better quality skimmers on paste.
Taking up second place was Simon Belcham on corner peg 10 with 18-8 of silvers and 2 bonus carp, including one of 15lbs, for a total of 42lbs 14oz.
Match Secretary, Steve Burgess on peg 12 managed 3 carp for 28-12 along with 9-12 of skimmers and a bonus tench for a total of 38lbs 8oz and 3rd spot.
Mr Consistent, Darren North, filled 4th place with 27lbs 2oz from golden peg 6 while born-again fisherman, Paul Reed, on peg 14, managed a carpless weight of 25lbs 4oz caught on chopped worm.
Proving that the paste season is drawing to it's close, Mark Radford on flier peg 18 could only manage 8oz of mainly small fish!

Landsend Match Lake, 4 Oct 2009 (14 pegs)

Brian Shanks nailed his second win at Landsend in as many weeks having been gifted "flier" peg 19 at the draw. However, it wasn't plain sailing for the Westerleigh based angling legend as Paul Elmes, on neighbouring peg 18, was also sat on carp and at the weigh-in only 7lbs separated the two of them.
With the water temperature dropping over the last two weeks due to the colder Autumn nights the Landsend carp appear to have shoaled as 4 out of the top 5 weights came from the same area of the lake.
The drop in temperatures also meant that they weren't having "the paste" and so proper fishing was the order of the day!

Simon Belcham claimed third spot from peg 13 with 57-10 caught mainly from the platform of peg 14 and Paul Reed was 5th from peg 16 with 45-3.
The only exception was from "Mr consistent", Darren North, on peg 9 (the golden peg).
Darren did well to take 56-15 from a peg that is usually left out of matches.

Sixth place was filled by Ryan (pullabung) Jordan in corner peg 24 with 40-4 caught mostly tight to the edge at 14m on pellet.
Top silvers went to new member Neil Mercer with 15-0 of mostly pellet-caught skimmers and a goldfish from peg 21.

Overall Results:
  1. Brian Shanks (19) ........ 67-13
  2. Paul Elmes (18) ........... 60-14
  3. Simon Belcham (13) ..... 57-10
