Avalon, 5 July 2009

Craig (Trigger) Edmonds continued his blistering run of form (and lucky drawing arm) with an impressive 3rd win from 3 matches weighing in a net-busting 146lbs and claiming the £100 Golden Peg to boot.
That makes a total of 337lbs in 2 matches and more than enough in winnings for a new pair of flip-flops!
Drawn on corner peg 24 (yes, another corner peg) with a strong wind blowing into it, he was catching from the off on the pole & pellet, shallow, out in front before switching to the margins where the fish were queuing up!
Steve Burgess, on peg 26, despite losing 5 pellet wagglers and struggling to present his 8mm banded pellet rig properly, did his best to save the Golden Peg money but had to settle for second spot with 97lbs of carp from the island margins.
Third place went to Stevie Wynne with a well deserved 63lbs 12oz from peg 11, just edging out Mark Radford's paste-caught 60lbs 14oz from peg 16 and Avalon legend, Tony Rixon, on peg 12 with 55lbs 2oz.
Bob Warren topped the silvers list from peg 21 with 6lbs 2oz followed by Mark Radford's 2lbs 4oz.
