Avalon, 22 August (16 pegs)

A cracking draw, corner peg 23, spelt good news for pastehead Mike Smith, who needed cheering up after spending the whole of the previous day moving house.  On the downside though, nearly 115lbs of fish wasn't going to do his knackered back much good!
Mike fished his now standard line of attack (paste at 13m) and finished up with 104-2 of carp and also the top silvers weight of 10-12.
Not far behind was Rich Jones on peg 13 with 102-2.  Rich (pictured top right looking as cheerful as ever) caught mainly on paste at 14m with a few fish taken on the straight lead / pellet combination fished to the island margins.

Third place went to Ryan Jordan who was keen to make up for a disastrous performance at last Sunday's Avalon open where he fished like a twat and got absolutely battered off the next peg Stu  Riddle take note
Ryan, on the golden peg (5) also fished paste at 16m for a total of 91-5.
Just out of the main pools was Paul (Beaver) Elmes with 88-1 from peg 20, however Paul's 5-2 of silvers was enough to secure him 2nd in the silvers money by default.






The Avalon weighing in team's efforts were appreciated as always, even if their adding up wasn't that special for some reason nobody seemed to mind too much!


Pictured below, Stu Riddle was forced to wear the PSV "wooden spoon" fat-suit. Normally the property of Paul Reed and Stevie Wynne, but after one of the most dismal displays of match fishing in the history of the club it now has his name well and truly sewn on it.
